A picture of myself at Eden Park during the Philippines vs. Norway football match. They estimated the crowd of around 35,000 of which nearly 30,000 were Filipinos or Filipino supporters. My involvement however, extended to way back in April together with a few other like-minded Filipinos, we were given the tasked to be community champions for the Women’s World Cup.

Our role as community champions was to promote the event to the Filipino community. I had the opportunity to meet the players up close when they arrived at the Auckland International Airport. I’m not much of a soccer/football fan. However, I did appreciate the challenges and sacrifices the team had to undergo and overcome, just to be the cinderella team in the FIFSA Women’s World Cup.
